Ziegler Gardner Bell, PLLC has an opening for a Paralegal in our civil litigation practice. The Litigation Paralegal will play a pivotal role in supporting our litigation attorneys throughout the lifecycle of a case. This role demands a high degree of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and organizational skills, is dedicated and detail-oriented with 7+ years of current experience in civil litigation.

Clients include international and regional architecture, engineering, and land surveying firms; leading heavy civil contractors; and single and multi-family real estate developers located in Texas and throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist litigation attorneys in all facets of the litigation process.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Organize and manage electronic case files, ensuring all relevant documents are easily accessible.
  • Calendar and track all case-related deadlines, ensuring compliance with schedules.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Obtain, review, and analyze medical records and related billings.
  • Coordinate and manage filings with the court. Prepare and organize documents for trial.
  • Engage professionally with clients, adjusters, attorneys, and fellow paralegals both over the phone and in person.
  • Communicate with counsel, clients, courts, and mediators.
  • E-File/E-Serve documents in state and federal courts and AAA matters.
  • Assist attorney in preparation for trial, arbitration, mediations, depositions, and hearings.
  • Perform basic research using Westlaw and PACER.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and Adobe to draft a wide variety of legal documents.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage case documents and document databases efficiently.
  • Knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, e-filing procedures, and eDiscovery.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion and good judgment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to track multiple deadlines.
  • Trial experience required
