Appeals

Ziegler Gardner is a rare firm with substantial experience at both the trial and appellate levels. We regularly defend our clients’ trial verdicts, challenge unfavorable rulings on appeal, and pursue and defend petitions for mandamus relief from trial court rulings.

Your counsel from the beginning. Our team draws on decades of experience as litigators to help clients navigate complex and high-exposure matters from pre-complaint negotiation through discovery, trial, judgment, and appeal. Rather than calling in an appellate specialist late in the game, our clients can rely on the deep understanding of their case that we have been developing since the earliest phase of the dispute. Our appellate attorneys are also essential members of the trial team in litigated cases, helping them identify key legal issues and arguments.

Significant experience across the legal system. Appellate advocacy is not just another stage of litigation. It represents an entirely new chapter in the case — and has the potential to produce rules of law that impact whole industries. This work requires specialized skill and strategy in crafting persuasive legal arguments, issue spotting, and error preservation. As our successful track record demonstrates, we bring significant experience tailored for success in each venue and can anticipate concerns likely to be raised by the judicial panels that hear your case.

On the leading edge of the law, with the creativity and vision that comes from experience with appellate matters of all types, we aggressively pursue the most favorable outcome for our client in every case.
